Founded in 2008, GIY supports people around the world to live healthier, happier and more sustainable lives by growing some of their own food. GIY's mission is to educate and enable a global movement of food growers whose collective actions will help to rebuild a sustainable food system.

GIY were seeking tools to support their corporate GROWCircle programme - tools that could be used by employees who were working remotely, on-site, or on a hybrid working model - to inspire these employees to make more sustainable food choices at home and in the workplace. In addition to bespoke launch events, monthly webinars and the "GROWBox" (a food growing starter kit), GIY identified a need to engage with users digitally - that would create a shared experience amongst corporate teams.
The GROWCircle multi-stakeholder platform includes both a mobile app for client organisation employees, and administration dashboards for both GIY administrative staff and client organisation administrators.
The mobile app provides users with a vast catalogue of tips and tricks, weekly challenges, quizzes, and how-to videos, including sustainable recipes from GIY's award-winning Head Chef. Showcasing the best of the GIY's "veg patch", plus sustainable approaches to meat and dairy, the app challenges are hand-picked for simplicity, taste, and adventure. The app breaks the GIY journey down to simple steps that reward users along their way to live healthier, happier and more sustainable lives.
For GIY administrative staff, the administrative dashboard includes the ability to onboard client organisations, create and edit app "thematic areas", create quizzes and activities (incl. video, text, photos, etc.), generate reports to analyse client engagement, define scoring and difficultly levels of challenges, and review and remove inapporpriate photographic uploads.
For client organisation administrators, the dashboard includes the ability to register their staff members, enable employee challenges & leaderboards, extract usage reports, review inappropriate imagery, and edit and manage profiles.
